The outbreak of COVID-19 is having a devastating economic impact on the arts and culture industry in our region. Individual artists are now without work, and arts organizations have had to cancel performances and events, including current First Friday exhibitions. This created a loss of revenue for our sector that is unprecedented in modern times.

For more information about how you can play a role in the recovery of our arts community, please visit ArtsKC.org.

Kansas City area artists, the City of Kansas City, Missouri has a new opportunity for you!

The City, through its One Percent for Art program, seeks to commission a professional visual artist, or artist team, to design art for the new Kansas City Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Garden.

During the design process, the selected artist(s) will coordinate with key stakeholders to develop a thoughtful artwork for a memorial garden. The goal of this art installation is to integrate a work of art into the garden that will honor fallen officers and their families.
