Thank You to Our Amazing Intern Ben!

by Ben Fine, Art in the Loop Intern

Ben Fine was our Art in the Loop intern this year. He is a student at Savannah College of Art and Design who is majoring in Graphic Design. If you would like to follow Ben on his art journey follow him on his Instagram @bfine_design.

During the internship, Ben was tasked with creating various posts (including this one ironically enough) for the websites to promote Art in the Loop’s events. He made Convivencia themed posters for each of the artists that we collaborated with. He also designed a merch poster that advertised the Convivencia t-shirts, stickers, and friendship bracelets that we sold this year.

A few years ago, Art in the Loop updated its logo and it was finally time to update other parts of the branding. At the same time, Summer in the City was looking for a feather flag design of their own. With his in-depth knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, he designed both of them with their unique brandings in mind. After creating Art in the Loop’s feather flag, he also made a sandwich board design that used the same design the flag did.

Halfway through his internship, at one of the weekly Art in the Loop meetings, there was discussion of interviewing a few of the artists, Ben offered to create video interviews. In the end, he was able to interview ten of the twenty-three artists. Along with the full interview, he edited vertical versions for Art in the Loop’s Instagram.

He was even pulled into the Downtown Council’s 816 Day preparations. He updated the 816 Day bingo card for 2024 with all of the new locations. He also helped reword and rearrange the verbiage used throughout the material all while he kept it visually appealing.
