The theme for our 2017 project is “Cue!” – meaning a signal or prompt to act. Taking inspiration from the current ARTwall installation “Cue!” by Larry Thomas which imagines 8 diversely patterned human figures queuing up on a billboard-style artwork adjacent to the Power & Light District, we are looking to artists to cue new interpretations of our City.
Artists cue viewers into reimagining and understanding our everyday experience. As Downtown Kansas City undergoes a vibrant transformation, we invite artists to cue new interpretations of this urban landscape: how can we experience Downtown in fresh ways through visual, physical, and performative cues?
