John Gilmore Trio
The John Gilmore Trio pulls its influences from across the jazz and fusion spectrums to create a unique lyrical and textural experience. Comprised of drums, bass, and saxophone, the open sound leaves plenty of room for experimentation, while providing an enjoyable ambiance for the listener.
John Gilmore is an active and sought-after percussionist and drum set artist in the Kansas City area. He completed his Master of Music degree at Emporia State University in May 2011, and a Master of Arts in Jazz Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2017. He has performed in a wide variety of ensembles, ranging from percussion duos to symphony orchestras. He can be heard regularly at the Barn Community Theater, Theater in the Park, and as a percussionist and drum set artist at venues throughout Kansas City.
