Waiting Rooms

Anderson’s Art in the Loop project, Waiting Rooms, is a series of animations shown on the KC Streetcar kiosks. These animations present fabricated, playful landscapes of the artist’s imagination, with some referencing actual elements from places along the streetcar line. Each animation is 15-20 seconds in length and is played at random times on all kiosks on the line.

Bio

Barry Anderson’s work in video and photography has been featured in numerous exhibitions and festivals around the country and abroad. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Everson Museum of Art, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art.  He is a Professor in Studio Art at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, teaching courses in motion design, photography, 3D modeling, and professional practices.
