Marissa Starke (she/her) started as Art in the Loop Art Director in 2023

Starke joined the Kansas City Artists Coalition staff in 2010 as the Assistant Director and became the Executive Director in 2019. She studied art history at Cornell College, Iowa, and the University of Kansas. During her time at KCAC, she played an integral role in the development of many new programs and artist opportunities. She developed and managed the growth of all social media for the organization, created Coffee Talk, coordinated the 40th Annual Block Party to celebrate KCAC’s impact on the community, and launched the experimental gallery, Snap Space giving emerging artists opportunity to exhibit. She was the primary grant writer and fundraiser for the organization for over three years and was able to annual grow the budget and staff at the Artists Coalition during that time.
